Undying loyalty and unwavering courage shows the face of Zhang Liao in any situation. He is a brave and mighty man, and such qualities embody his demeanor in daily life and about the battlefield. He is a hard man, and it is difficult to make him smile. In almost any situation, he gives no fucks.

History:
Zhang Liao was born in Mayi, where he was originally surnamed Nie. In his younger days, he served as a local administrative officer to the magistrate. Towards the end of the Han Dynasty, the Yellow Scarves came to rebellion, and the governor of Bing Province, Ding Yuan, recruited Zhang Liao for his noticeable martial prowess.
Ding Yuan and his personal aid, Lu Bu, served well to quell the rebellion, with Zhang Liao leading a contingent of cavalry in each battle, personally slaying three captains in three bouts.
In 189, Ding Yuan led troops into Luoyang to aid He Jin in the assassination of the ten eunuchs, but by the time they arrived, He Jin was the one who found death. They walked into a capital in chaos, which was quelled when Dong Zhuo assumed the initiative and placed a puppet emperor on the throne.
The relationship between Ding Yuan and Dong Zhuo in tatters, the former began plotting against the latter, until Lu Bu was convinced to slay Ding Yuan and defect. Seeing no other course of action, and genuinely giving no fuck about Ding Yuan being betrayed, Zhang Liao followed Lu Bu over to Dong Zhuo.
Zhang Liao serves as Lu Bu's lieutenant and right hand. Where Lu Bu usually is pitched in battle, galloping the mighty Red Hare far into enemy lines alone, Zhang Liao is usually leading the men to ensure the great Lu Bu's fierce heroics are never the death of him.
