Burai values his family, comrades and anyone who he can deceive with minimal effort. but will not heed their requests necessarily. If there isn't anything beneficial to be gained by the request; he'll see it as a trivial matter. If a friend or comrade desperately needed his aid, Burai would do it as a favor. He will try his hardest to complete the task/request, only if remained to be worth while. If he completed the task he'll expect the favor to be repaid in full.
Burai will do what ever necessary to get what he wants, as long as it benefits him in the end; killing innocents, betraying allies, lying. Burai doesn't have much of a conscience. There is no such thing as morality; virtue is a myth spread among those who are blind to the injustice they create themselves. Burai sees the world for what it truly is; a beautiful oasis full of creatures, who wish to live in peace and harmony, and vicious cretins and parasites that prey on those naive creature.

Even if it means subjecting his oppressing to pain, as long as it gets him out of the interrogation. He shows no shame in killing innocent to acquire what he wants. Nothing is more satisfying, than killing a person who is weaker than himself. He only respects those who are stronger than him.
Not under any circumstances will he aid the weak, or will he show mercy to his enemies. There are only two things that await the weak and his enemies, death and despair. He will make sure they know both.
Despite his brilliance, Burai is flawed, though he will never admit these flaws. He is perfect! And, refers to these flaws as imperfections. He suffers from gynephobia. He sees women as the biggest threat to his existence. These creatures are able to bewilder any man, and cause them great pain without ever using a blade. Such demons should not be trusted. His biggest fear is to fall victim to such trickery.

History:
Burai was abandoned as a baby, he was placed in the trash heap left to die. Fortune smiled upon him as a local street urchin found him. The street urchin was a beautiful young woman, who would use her looks to charm various merchants and rob them blind. She began to use Burai as a prop for her charades. People were always so eager to save a beautiful young maiden with a child. The two traveled around china. After doing this for a couple of years, Burai's adopted mother grew bored, she wanted more.
Burai was now around the age of four. His mother had him pull off charades on his own. Burai was terrible, the merchants would always catch him, or they would always be suspicious of him. After each failure, his mother would beat him severely and remind him that the winters and hunger would be far worse.
His mother became something more frightful than death. Upon his failures, he would stay out on the streets and try desperately to find money. He wouldn't come home for days at a time. Each time he would come home, she would act really sweet and embrace him. The moment Burai would let down his guard she would strike him.
After years of this Burai began to fear women who were beautiful. And, stayed away from them. He would never look any women in their eyes, not even his own mother. The thought of receiving such a kind welcome, only to be struck when he least expects it terrified him. Women should never be trusted. His mother was aware of his fear, and loved it. She secretly thrived of it.
On Burai's 16th birthday his mother took him to a hot spring. Once they were settled in, she took him to the woman's side of the spring. Burai heart began to flutter, as his eyes wandered and scanned the various woman at the spring. Burai's body feel odd, a new sensation spread through out his whole body. He leapt into the springs, and covered himself to hide his embarrassing. The other women and his mother all laughed at Burai and his naivety.
That day was catastrophic and only fueled his phobia. As, the years past his mother continued to manipulate him. Burai grew tired of her, she done nothing but vex him. At the age of 20 he had enough. One night he took her out to the hot spring; the same hot spring she humiliated him at. The two casually stepped into the water. His mother motioned to him, she wanted to enjoy this moment with not just her son, but the handsome man he had become.
Burai confirmed her desire and casually swam toward her. She wrapped her arms around him and embraced him fully. She whispered, “You are my pride and joy. I am sorry for the pain I have caused you!”
Burai felt something within melt, this warmth was pleasant. He lowered his chin on her shoulder and wrapped his arms around her; to embrace her and this new feeling.
“I want you to be my husband, We are not of the same blood. Marry me, let us continue our thievery. Together as one.”She said softly, as she released him and stared into his eyes. She raised her hand and brought it to the top of her head. Her fingers laced around a pin that kept her hair together. She pulled it out swiftly; her hair fell down past her shoulders.
She moved into closer to Burai, inching her way toward his lips. As she made her way toward his lips she slowly adjusted the pin in her hand. “Kiss me,” She whispered.
Burai was paralyzed, why would he kiss his own mother. Even if she wasn't related to him. But, he couldn't disobey her. She was his mother after all, and he didn't want to be punished. He moved forward, to meet her lips.
Suddenly his mother's eyes flared open, she arched her arm and trusted it toward Burai's throat; as her arm jutted forward it straighten, given her more accurate thrust. “You always leave yourself so vulnerable!!!!!!!!”
Burai eyes shot open as he heard her shout. His eyes darted at her hand, and then at the pin. She would stop to no end to humiliate me!?” Burai couldn't find the strength in him to fight back. He couldn't strike her. He took a deep breath and prepared for the blow.
His mother stopped mid-swing, “Do you love me that much!? You won't defend yourself!?” She moved the pin over to her right hand and placed her left hand on his throat. “I do not love you! I used you like a pawn to get everything I desired; Men, money, food. I could never love such a perfect tool!” She slowly gripped his neck tighter. “You are nothing more than a stray dog I took in. And, its about time I put you down!”
Burai grew cold and numb as she continued to lecture him. The pressure on his throat was nothing compared to her words. He felt his heart shatter, “I..I did everything for you, you gave me a second chance.” Tears slowly brimmed down his cheeks, “I see how naive I truly am. You are nothing more than some street rat that got lucky.”
She released him, and backhanded his left cheek. “How dare you!”
Burai's eyes filled with hatred and rage. “You are not a woman, but a parasite!” Burai's hatred and rage consumed his sorrow and affection he once had for his mother. He firmly planted his hands on her throat and began to squeeze.
His mother began to gasp for air, as his hands began to constrict. She somehow managed to mutter a few words, “Now..you..act..like...a...man” She smiled at him, as she could feel her life escaping her. “Nothing will be able to touch his heart, it will never know true pain.” She flipped the pin around in her right hand. “With this, I shall lock away his heart.”
She grabbed one of his wrist with her left hand. And used it as a lever, she pivoted to her right and thrusted her right hand forward.
He noticed a content smile on her face,”Why would she be happy?” This confused him, greatly but the confusion was interrupted by her sudden movement.“You B-” his sentence was interrupted by a sharp pain in his upper left cheek bone. The pain traveled northward through his eye and eyebrow. Blood began to pour down his face, the pain was excruciating,The pain caused him to blackout. When he came around his mother was floating peacefully in the water.
Burai stared at her corpse with his right eye; a feeling of satisfaction rain down upon him. “What an intoxicating feeling.” He grabbed her by the throat, and lifted her up. “Why did you smile?” He waited for a response and then released her. He casually swam to the edge of the spring and climbed out. He gathered things and left without a trace.
-Two Years Later-
Burai became a fugitive of the law, he had part of his left face bandaged to cover his hideous scar. Through his travels he met a man, A fellow thief named Locke, the two began friends quickly and began to travel together. The two would scam merchants, and rob everyone they met along the road. But, eventually their crimes caught up with him. As the two tried to rob a merchant, who was actually a soldier in disguise. The two managed to escape and fled from the scene, but the soldier was determined gave chase.
Burai and Locke decided to venture into the neighboring city to lose their pursuer. They arrived at the city gates, and the gate guards immediately checked them. Burai fearing for the worse, stole one of the guard's sword and quickly unsheathed it and killed the two guards.
Locke grunted, as he watched Burai killed the two guards they were innocent. He scolded Burai and told him that he was leaving a trail of bread crumbs.
Burai smiled at Locke and told him to use this time to escape, while the guards pursue him. Locke nodded and ventured into the city. Once Locke was out of Burai's vision. Burai franticly searched the bodies and found a horn. He placed the horn on the ground and looked around frantically, for witnesses. There was no one in sight.
Burai removed the armor and helm of one of the guards, once the guard was undressed. Burai removed his own attire and dressed the guard in his old attire. Once he was finished he quickly put on the guards armor and helm. He picked up the guard's sword and drove the tip of the sword into his stomach; once he was punctured he tossed the blade aside and blew the horn.
The soldier from before came marching to the gate. Burai pointed to the corpse. “Quickly the other one is in the city. Inform the guards” Burai feign a hurtful gasped, “He is wearing an odd outfit with a blue head wrap..”
The soldier nodded, “Tend to your wounds, you did well. Your family would be honored.” The soldier ran into the city and informed the guards who patrolled the city.
After what seemed like a lifetime, the city began to become lively. The peasants and nobles where all in a frenzy. Burai staggered to his feet and limped his way into the city. In the town square there was Locke on his knees battered and bruised. He slowly took of his helm and grinned at Locke.
Locke looked up momentarily to see Burai grinning. Locke shook his head and chuckled. “I would gladly die as a thief, than to die like a sniveling. Backstabbing-” A sword came down upon Locke's neck and cut him off mid sentence.
Burai put the helm back on and left the city. With everyone thinking he was dead, there was no need to stay in china.
-Present Day-
Burai became a self proclaimed fisherman, but if you would ask the rest of the crew. They were all pirates. He saw pirating as an hobby, not a profession. Occasionally when he and his crew were low on supplies they would come ashore and pillage nearby towns. They had a code that they live by. “Give and take.” ((Give them nothing, but take everything!)) Burai grew bored of piracy, eventually he and the crew docked in china. Burai and the crew said their farewells and parted ways. Burai went inland while the crew went back out to sea.
Burai needed a place to settle down into. He didn't know who would take in a person of his background. He set out looking for immediate work; before he walked off he had this devilish grin on his face.
